Frequently asked questions FAQS

We have gathered below the questions most frequently asked by our customers and which will allow you to understand cryptocurrency trading, crypto-currencies, and the LDC tool. If you can not find answers to your questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

Today, all cryptocurrencies are alternative currencies, because they do not have legal tender in any country.
Cryptocurrencies use a validation system (eg by proof of work) to protect them from electronic counterfeiting.
Many cryptocurrencies have been developed.
The first full implementation was bitcoin, introduced in 2009.

Except for exceptions, the majority of cryptocurrencies are designed for the creation                                                 new units of money be gradual, while placing, for the most part,                                                 they, a ceiling on the money supply that will be in circulation in the future.                                                 This is done in order to mimic the rarity (and value) of precious metals                                                 and avoid hyperinflation. Compared to ordinary currencies held by                                                 financial institutions or kept in cash, cryptocurrencies are managed by                                                 a large account book open and searchable by all (the blockchain)                                                 lists all transactions from the origin. A cryptocurrency is not                                                 so not occult to the extent that any transaction is searchable                                                 on the internet with mention of the e-mail address of the issuer and receiver accounts                                                 as well as the amount of the transaction. However, these transactions are unforgeable                                                 and inviolable thanks to the intensive use of cryptography. Note that there is                                                 exceptions to the anonymity rule, like Darkcoin,                                                 the Zerocoin the Bytecoin and Black Coin

An ICO (initial corner offering), with reference to IPOs, is a form of financing,                                                  halfway between fundraising and crowdfunding, by pre-selling a new cryptocurrency.                                                  The first notable ICO is Ethereum in 2014.

In order to be able to follow the development of the cryptocurrency market, the indices allow to track important cryptocurrencies as well as their market prices.

When a transaction is issued, it is transmitted and validated by computers that                                                  make up the network. This validation is a calculation for the completion of which any person can propose his computer and thus participate in the calculations. Once a transaction is validated, each computer that participated in its validation,                                                  is allocated a certain amount of electronic money in proportion to its participation in the calculation.

Until today, participating in Bitcoin transaction calculations requires a significant investment, since it is almost essential to invest in FPGA or ASIC systems (it is better to use the expression of "specialized systems" than FPGA or ASIC which targets two technologies unrelated to the need for computing power required). Other cryptocurrencies like Litecoin, more recent and based on the Scrypt algorithm, allow less powerful systems to participate in the calculation. In fact GPUs (graphics card processors) are powerful enough to perform calculations quickly.

The participation in the monetary creation, called "mining", follows an algorithmic scheme which aims to reproduce the discovery of gold (or other precious metals):

  • In the beginning, few people are looking for gold, so finding them is relatively simple.
  • As information spreads and more and more people search, gold becomes harder and harder to find.
  • As a result, the investment of the actors is more and more important, pushing the limits and forcing the small researchers to give up.
  • Because the resource is expendable, its value increases, while its chance of discovery decreases.

Bitcoin has entered a phase where the complexity (number of people involved in the generation of blocks and their tools) requires an investment in hardware for any new person or for those who want to follow the movement. The other cryptocurrencies are still in their first phase (more and more people are participating, as a result of the information that results, gradually increasing its complexity of research).

The difficulty of generating blocks also lies in the calculation of the energy expended for the generation of cryptocurrencies. Each material being more or less optimized for the calculation, and consuming more or less electricity, it is important to calculate and limit the energy consumption, while maximizing the computing power. Some graphics cards are much better than others. Joining a pool of block generators is the most appropriate way to quickly generate your first revenue through this activity. Alternative currencies (alt coin) can, for their part, display much higher yield ratios than the most popular currencies (notably Litecoin and Bitcoin). Indeed, these secondary currencies being less widespread, the block generation is more accessible and less competitive.

The rare earths, 15 in number, are a set of metals,                                                  mainly produced in China. Of the 15 rare earths produced in                                                  on the industrial scale, only 7 or 8 have a large scale application.                                                  They are used in very small quantities, but used in many sectors,                                                  ranging from high-tech to automotive. We find in smartphones,                                                  in contact lenses, in car batteries and even in wind turbines.                                                  They are called dysprosium, terbium, neodymium.
